Hard times, tough decisions.
March 19, 2020
True Leadership is servanthood. Put the interests of others at the center of your decisions. On March 17, 2020 I decided to temporarily close my business (tears are welling up in my eyes just typing it). This was the toughest decision I have made in all my years in business. I did it because it is the right thing to do for all of us.
COVID-19 Blog
March 17, 2020
Due to recommendations from our state board, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule all non-essential, non-urgent appointments for the next two weeks, effective tomorrow, March 18th, 2020. This decision will allow us to protect our most vulnerable patients, increase our efforts at social distancing to slow the progression of COVID-19, and lessen the impact on our critical care facilities.

Back to School Eye Exams for Children
September 25, 2019
There are lots of things to think about when your child goes back to school for a new year. Uniform and equipment are often the biggest priorities for any parent, but experts agree that a comprehensive, back to school eye exam is just as important as any of the other supplies that you might buy your child. This is because your child’s vision is essential for him to have full and uncompromised access to his learning.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Julie Lehman
June 29, 2019
My name is Julie and I am the New Patient/Patient Relations Coordinator at Puyallup Valley Dental Care. It is my privilege to work with our new patients to schedule their initial appointments and gather all pertinent information to make the transition to our office as seamless as possible. I enjoy getting to know patients on a personal level and connecting with them over common interests. I take tremendous pride in the relationships I have built with our patients and am thankful they entrust us with their care. At PVDC we not only provide dental care to our patients, but we are also invested in their overall health and well-being, which strengthens our patient/provider relationship.
Safety Eyewear
May 5, 2019
Accidents and injuries can happen at any time and in any place. They can also affect any part of our body. Unfortunately, our eyes are particularly delicate and since we rely entirely on them to allow us to see clearly, any damage that they incur could potentially have a catastrophic effect on our vision. While some types of injuries are completely unexpected, it is prudent to take positive steps to protect our eyes if we participate in any activity – vocational or recreational – that could potentially put our eyes at risk.
COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Wild Hare Organic Farm Owner Katie Green
April 18th, 2019
I think I am drawn to small businesses, both in my career and as a consumer. A smaller economy of scale and a solid ethic of care seem to go hand in hand. I like to support businesses that value the importance of longer-term customer relationships and treat their employees with care and respect. I like it when my exchange as a customer feels like more than just a one-time transaction. I'm more inclined to invest in a business that seems willing to invest in me, my family and community.
